Wellead Medical, a domestic leader in medical catheters, inaugurated its East China marketing headquarters in SIP High-end Manufacturing and International Trade Zone on Mar 5. Concurrently, the second phase of MedLand, a medical-device-focused industrial park invested by the company, was opened.

Wellead Medical specializes in the R&D, production and sales of medical catheters for anesthesiology, urology, respiratory care, and hemodialysis. Based on the new headquarters, the company aims to leverage SIP’s rich industrial resources to further strengthen its footprint in East China and expand into the global market.

MedLand is operated by Welllead Medical Science & Technology (Suzhou) Co Ltd, a branch of the company. Initiated in 2018, it comprises two phases, with a total investment of RMB750 million. The first phase, with a total floor area of 70,000 square meters, came into use in October 2022. The second phase boasts a total floor area of 130,000 square meters.

On the same day, four companies signed agreements to launch operations in the second phase of MedLand, and Welllead’s new medical tech arm came into operation. MedLand has put together a team of “butlers” and a group of “mentors” to give firms in it a helping hand in their operations.

Concurrently, the “Yiqi ? Home” station was opened to provide policy consultation, resource connection, challenge resolution and other services to businesses under the collaboration between SIP Enterprise Development Service Center and MedLand.
